I disagree with the point of view of the author of the article. First, black friday is performed in the US which means everybody is free to choose what they want to do in that day. The author said people is "Trying in vain to fill themselves with all that is empty, all that matters not." spending time in activities that distract themselves from being with their families. However, I think everyone has different ways to spend their time in holidays. Moreover, the US is a country with a variety of cultural differences. There are people from almost all over the world. As a result, these people do not have the same tradition of the "Thanks giving" day. This day emerged form American history. Therefore, It could be not so valuable for everyone as the author is thinking. My plans for thanks giving are have some rest (because there are not classes neither work) go shopping and have a good meal with friends
My plan for Thanksgiving day would be visiting my friend's mother's house. He invited me to enjoy the dinner with his family, and I agreed with his offer. As an international student, I may miss my family who are in Korea now on that day, so I would want to spend time with my friend to forget the sad feeling.
I plan to buy something on Thanksgiving, but i don't want to get up very early, and I have not think of what I want to buy, maybe a TV. If I miss some great deals, i will not regret, because even in normal days, you can find deals as good as on Thanksgiving, however, you need some skills and patience to look for them.
I do not really know what are my plans for Thanksgiving. I probably will go to my boyfriend's family house and have dinner with them. As a second option, I will have a meeting and cook with some friend. What I know for sure is that I am going to shop the all day long in the Black Friday.
I strongly expect that Thanksgiving will be really nice:) From Wednesday to Sunday, I have 5 days to joy, so I think I might go to park city with my friends to go shopping on black Friday. Before shopping day, I will go to the inner swimming pool with my girlfriend with rent a car. I am already excited as I expect national day with my crews.
This is Pedro. My plans for thanksgiving is to have a nice dinner and then start preparing for black Friday. Last year I could not buy anything because I did not have money, but this year I will spend the whole day shopping, which is going to be awesome.
This article piqued my interest. I think that many people want to spend Thanksgiving with their families and close friends. But I do not think that is good idea to close stores during this time and leave people with no discounts on many products. They should decide by themselves what is more important for them: to go shopping or spend more time with their families and friends. As for me, my plans for Thanks given are very pleasurable! I am planning to go to Las Vegas with bunch of my friends. We are going to spend there around 5 days and enjoy Thanksgiving by eating delicious food in the local restaurants. I hope that is going to be unforgettable holiday with a lot of fun and experiences.
I have a romantic dinner with my boyfriend on thanksgiving! We are having traditional Colombian food though! Because none of us like turkey. Then, we are going shopping to park city and is going to be amazing!!!! I look forward to spend a beautiful and fun week with him.
I plan to visit my friends, play games, watch movies, and chat with my parents. I might go shopping in that weekend if there is no test. Then I will go back to Mars (just kidding
My plans for thanks giving are amazing! Im going to disneyland with my friends. We are going to celebrate for two days in california. Then we are going to Las Vegas. Also we are going to party for two days. Probably we are going to have a dinner buet is not for sure
I don't have a plan for thanksgiving, but I'll rest as much as I want and eat until I get sick because there are several places to go and have a dinner, for example, my friend invited me in her home, my ward friend is making a dinner for people like me no home here to go, finally of course I won't miss the elc thanksgiving dinner. My country doesn't have a custom to celebrate thanksgiving day, however I like the holiday. I'm excited for the holiday. Some people wait this day because of great deals for shopping. However, I'm not gonna shop. I have many reasons to no shop.
My original plan was to go and shop this day, I wanted to experience this day so bad. I heard about it long time ago, but never had a chance to actually experience it. But then I watched a video about black Friday and my plan was absolutely changed.. I got scared... I don't want to be killed by some crazy people just because of the good deals. It feels like people lose their humanity because of the "good deals" .... people would go over you and would not even turn back to you because of the material things!! And beside that, I got an invitation to spend those days with my fiance's family (my future family) and celebrate this day in a nice lovely surrounding by nice people called FAMILY!! This is a true Thanksgiving!!! :) And I am so looking forward to experience it! :)

ReplyDeleteMy plans were inverted. We bought on Thursday and we had dinner on Friday. This way was easier. Less people where buying on thursday.
