$1 billion!!! There are two different opinions about how the government is spending the money on space program. People in general is questioning how dare the government is to spend that much money on space programs while people are dying of starvation. On the other hand, the government points it as an important improvement for the country and a good contribution to the technology, besides the many jobs they are creating with these program.
In some point I agree with Rapha, probably more than 1 billion. There are many contradiction about the money spent in the program. I just believe that it is true that they opened jobs, but in my conceptions the government need to organize the country in its internal issues like the poverty and hunger, like some people said. I think it is not try to show to the world that the country can do a huge think if inside of the country still have a lack of basic needs. It is the same thing with my home country.
This is Kyusuk. More than 1 billion dollar must be consumed by Indian spaceship company. Most people other countries and India can insist that such a great amount of money paid for the first spaceship was wasting money and they'd rather help their citizens more with that money because India is not really developed country; although India has a great electronic technology. However, their trial was really valuable for later accomplishment. Yet, a few of countries just tried to send the spaceships out of Earth, so their trial will be the first step of developing their country which can make numberable benefits in future. I think strong competitive companies dealing with spacecrafts will get much more revenue too. Also, India will improve and develop their technologies that create a lot of income that will recover this investment hopefully.
The government says it is $1 billion space program in general. People question about the investment of this project because there are people in poverty. But the government gives explanation to defend it that it is very important mission; therefore, it will solve problems on Earth.
The article says that the government is going to spend $1 billion in the first mission of India to March. On the other hand, people think that the money invested by the government would help to improve the life of many people in India.
This article caught my attention. It is always interesting to know more about space travel. Therefore, it was quite interesting to know that India on Tuesday launched its first spacecraft bound for Mars. However, it is a big question whether India need or not to spend their money for space travelling. Many people in India are very poor and need financial help. Nowadays poverty is a big problem in India and government should spend some money for the programs directed to the poor people instead of Mars mission. On the other hand, space program is providing jobs for scientist and engineers. According to Raghu Kalra:,"These missions are important. These are things that give Indians happiness and bragging rights,"… "Even a poor person, when he learns that my country is sending a mission to another planet, he will feel a sense of pride for his country, and he will want to make it a better place."
I think 1 billion is too much. Even though people would be proud of their country, they are still hungry. I think that hunger is a more important problem than pride that hungry people only want food so they don't really care about if they are proud of something or not.
I agree with everyone, 1 billion is the amount. I think the first thing that people think about this is disagreement. However, I don't think that avoiding this kind of programs will help to prevent poverty or famine. I agree that governments need to invest in technology and in these kind of programs while investing in programs to help their people more directly like education.
