Seriously? I do not believe he threw away the gold. But just giving this excuse shows how much insane this man is. As it was mentioned in the news, nobody found the gold, no news, no clue. He is probably trying to get attention from his ex wife, and media, and he has the gold in somewhere, but for now his level of desperation does not allow him think as a mature man.
Well, we will never imagine what man is capable to do in moments of despair. It is not easy to deal with divorcing. So, I can believe that he threw away the money. For sure that a lot of factors need to be taken for make a presumption, but I believe it. In his insanity, all is possible and it sometimes scares me.
Maybe the man really threw it away, but there are no witness, and even no camera video , so nobody believe him, especially the lawyer. That is a silly decision, but I don't believe him, he had lots of other ideas to do the same thing, but he choose the silliest one. I think he hide the money and want to use it after he get out of the jail.

According to the article, there was no surveillance, witness, and clue, which means that the man might know all those conditions and he probably didn't throw away his money. Statement in the court is just a statement. So, he was really angry at his ex-wife and he didn't want to give his money to her annually. Also, he was divorced by his ex-wife that made him have wrong mind. Perhaps, he hid the money at the place that he only knows and he would pass the period of investigation, for sure. So, I believe he didn't throw away the money and he is taking his money in someplace.
Well this can be a stupid plan to hide the money and then retake it. However, this man is in prison for others charges. Also, the article does not say anything about wehere the money ended. Probably he just hide a part of it and the rest was put into another account. In my point of view I do not think this is the best way to escape from problems. I believe that there is always solutions for them ..
The story is crazy but it could be both - trut and lie! It depends on a lot of factors, which are not included in the article. Sometimes people do something really crazy in their lives but sometimes they just pretend. So, it is hard to get a properly full image of this situation, we still don't know lots of facts. If his wife was that bad, he could've hide it in order not to pay her money after divorce. And if his personality is emotional, there is a big possibility that he threw it away.

I believe that this guy hide the money. This act shows a lack of logic and insanity. If someone could find the gold, probably the police would have evidence of that. Another crucial flaw in jone´s act is´his apperently hapinness being cynic.
I think he hided it somewhere. 22 bars of gold should be really heavy(at least about a child's weight), if he really threw it away, garbage collector would have noticed it. If he really threw it away, none of his ex-wife and he can get the money, why didn't he give out half of them to his wife and he can get another half? I don't believe he would really give passerby $100 bill if he can get cash
Maybe the guy really threw away all his gold, however, he knows exactly where. He mght have thought that his wife would take that money, so he needed an good excuse to avoid that.
There are some movies when people lost money, but in the end the money just was hidden. I think this guy just remember one of these movies and he hid the gold in some place. Even he is in jail, probably he is planning to recover the gold after that.
