How could something like this happen?  Is airport security overdone or can it be improved?

  1. This event, in my point of view, is not a big deal that should be took very serious. The boy was a little boy, and the explanation for how he passed for every one is just because he was a child. First, being a child is easier to pass under tables, behind people, doors, and anywhere, just because children are shorter and non very seen. Second, people always assume that child is very accompanied of parents or some major, so he was probably seen, but not stopped. These two reasons are what come in to my mind as a explanation how it happened and why is not a big deal to worry about. If it was an adult, I am sure he or she would be able to do the same thing

  2. Even a system that we believe is perfect can have its fails. Probably the security didnt take serious a little child, or they believed that he was accompanied with another passengers. Everything can be improved; however, the airport security is already very strict and improvements could delay things in the airport

  3. This is Kyusuk. I think this incident is very strange happen in the U.S. The system of the airport didn't check strong because the fight attendant or even the police who check people's visa and ticket were not responsible. They should have checked more and more not to pass individual. The fault was given by all workers in the airport. The airport security should be checked stronger and be improved.

  4. I still can't believe what happened to the boy. It is true that it is a surprising story to hear. I think airport security should be careful not to make this happening again. It can be a special experience for the boy, but the incident wasn't good for his parents and the people who worked at the airport. To prevent the incidents, workers at the airport security should pay attention to their works. They should have more responsibility about their jobs.

  5. The main responsibility lay on the parents of children. Kids are just kids they do not measure the consequences of their actions. Further, usually children are just looking for funny things to do and most of the time they want to flee from their parents because they restric them to do it. Therefore, parents should be aware of what their children are doing and where they are. In my point of view this is understandable to happen. How many people travel every day on airports. I used to work at an airport back home and i realized that security is not enough sometimes there are many mistakes.

  6. I agree with Ulises parents are resposable for their children. Kids are looking for have fun. At same time, this incident helps to airports to improve their surveillance system. Officials should ask passengers documents and veirfy their status. Moreover, parents should be aware of their children. It is unveliable that they lost its children in the airport.

  7. I think it happened just because the airport securities neglect the security problems, they should be responsible for that. I have taken international airline many times, and I don't think it will happen in those airlines, maybe just because it is domestic airline, the security is not very tight. And also, I don't think it will happen in China, our policemen will not neglect any child.

  8. I would say that guys are right, the biggest responsibility is on the parents of that child. I would say even more: this story teaches more parents than the security officers. Parents cannot rely on the security on whoever if they don't do their part, if they don't care for their own children and don't explain them properly how it is important to be close to parents in public places especially places like airports
    !!!! :)

  9. The boy went through security with other passengers. The point is, 9-year-old child does not need identification: only adults age 18 and over are required to have a state-issued or U.S. federal photo ID. So airport security might focus on making sure the identity of childrn in the future.

  10. In my opinion, the news about a little boy passed the airport security and went to Las Vegas is pure luck that can occur once in awhile. It happened because he was a 9 year old innocent boy, no one would suspect him, and the boy took the advantage. I believe that airport security is safe enough; therefore, nothing to worry about.

  11. This is a very interesting new for me, because I've traveled to many different places, and airport security is very strict, especially in the United States. What this child did was crazy, nobody can explain how could he do that. However, this situation doesn't mean that American airport security is poor. I think that it was just a mistake somebody did, that shouldn't be the cause to blame a whole system of security.

  12. This is an interesting article. How is that possible that a little kid could skip the strict airport security? Well, this is not the first time that something like this happens. Airport security should be stronger. If a 9 year odl kid can skip thr security, what about terrorist groups? is the security airport strong enough to avoid terrorist attacks?

  13. Well it is simple. The article says that 9-year-old kid don't need an identification. Then, it is easy a kid pass by the child of another couple and get into to the airplane or something similar. Well, The security will improve with technology but i think that is more about the care of the security. The security or whoever who take care the identification be aware of the identification of everyone.
