How do you feel about this story?
It is unbelievable how people nowadays are looking for easy ways to earn money. For example, this woman that has 13 monkeys. She is renting each monkey fro $3 a day, which give us a total of $309. This is easy money at the expense of animals. I think it is necessary to end this terrible animal treatment. Also, I think it's good that government si buying back the monkeys and also training the people so they can have jobs.
ReplyDeleteThis is Kyusuk. I agree with the government's position. As one who really likes animas, using monkeys to show their talents on the street will cause a lot of problems such as contaminating diseases to people and they can be infected by viruses. Also, as the article mentioned the abuse of animals, monkeys should be protected to their health. I am sure that monkeys should be stressed because of the hard schedules. And these animals have their own rights which should not be invaded by humans.
ReplyDeleteI feel really dissappointed and sad reading this story. Despite of the help to rescue macaques in this village, the government should improve education for citizens around Indonesia to protect Macaques. Nevertheless the government tries to protect macaques, people is going to find the way to break the law.
ReplyDeleteThis story broke my heart. I had no idea of this. I strongly agree with the government that is trying to stop these performances. However, I kind of believe in what Sarinah, the owner of 13 monkeys, said that she would be cruel with them because they are her tools to earn money. But anyways, these little animals need another kind of treatment. They were not born to do that, They need to be free, but now they need special attention. Hopefully, the government will find the best way to resolve the problem.
ReplyDeleteThe monkey performance on streets in Indonesia is an exploitation. It is horrible to hear that how people torture those monkeys, and make profit for themselves. Moreover, it is as shame to hear their saying that these monkeys are their living support. It is fortune that the government ceased these heartbreaking activities and save those monkeys from streets.
ReplyDeleteI feel sad about the story. Even though people in Indonesia is poor enough, it is shocking for me to hear that they earn money with their monkeys with a mask. I feel relieved since it is ban for the people by a law, but it was a shock for me that people wished to continue the monkey shows on the street after the ban. I think the fundamental solution for this horrible shows is having healthy economics in Indonesia, and I hope it will.
ReplyDeleteI felt bad because of the treatment that those monkeys were having. The government really should do something about this. Also, people should respect these animals, even though they are the only way to them to get some money.
ReplyDeleteThis article is about monkeys who work on the streets in Jakarta, Indonesia. It tells us how security forces are conducting raids to rescue macaques used in masked monkey performances in Jakarta. Even though many monkeys were saved they cannot live with other primates in zoos and cannot defend themselves in the wild.
ReplyDeleteI feel pretty sad with this article. I almost cry because it touched my heart. It unbelievable the behavior of this people and the treatment that they are giving to these monkeys. I think that the government must do something. This situation must change with education or prison.
ReplyDeleteDefinitively using animals for obtaining money is nod good. These monkeys are being exploited by this persons. I agree with the Government and its efforts to stop this situation.
